Kit Harrington arrives at the Game of Thrones Season Finale Premier.

UPDATED 8/24/19 1:58 p.m. ET: Despite prior anticipation, Kit Harington will not be playing Wolverine. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced at D23 that the Game of Thrones alumnus will be in The Eternals. He'll play Dane Whitman, a.k.a. the Black Knight.

Kit Harington will reportedly be welcomed into Marvel’s realm of superheroes.

Deadlinereports that the Game of Thrones actor has been tapped to join one of the franchises, though it's unclear which one.

Earlier this week, the 32-year-old actor shared his honest perspective on Game of Thrones' final season. Harington admitted that while he was "happy" to see Arya's character kill the Night King, he wanted to do it. "I was a bit pissed off, only because I wanted to kill the Night King! I think I felt like everyone else did, in that it had been set up for a long time, and then I didn't get to do it," he told the Hollywood Reporter. "But I was so happy for Maisie and Arya. I was secretly like, 'I wanted to do that!'"

The news comes after Marvel went through its own share of drama: Sony and Marvel Studios ended their partnership, effectively pulling Tom Holland's Spidey out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
