Showtime has released the first official trailer for City on a Hill, an upcoming drama series about corrupt law enforcement in 1990s Boston.

The show will follow assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge) who embarks on an anti-corruption crusade with the help of Jackie Rhodes (Kevin Bacon), a crooked, yet respected, FBI veteran. The story is based on an original idea from Ben Affleck and writer/creator Chuck MacLean; both men will serve as the show's executive producers alongside Matt Damon, Tom Fontana, Jennifer Todd, Michael Cuesta, James Mangold, and Barry Levinson.

Bacon spoke about the series at TCA on Thursday, saying it evoked Boston crime thrillers from the 1970s.

"The thing I loved immediately from reading the pilot was Jackie's voice, which was something I heard," the actor said. "This world of '90s cops and robbers had a gritty vibe to me and was reminiscent of movies I loved in the '70s from Scorsese and Sidney Lumet and I felt there wasn’t much on TV in this pocket, there was nothing that felt like this."

Bacon and Hodge will star alongside Jonathan Tucker, Mark O'Brien, Amanda Clayton, Jere Shea, Kevin Chapman, Cathy Moriarty, Rory Culkin, and Jill Hennessy. City on a Hill will debut at 9/8c on June 16.
