Winter has really come.

On Thursday afternoon, HBO released the first official teaser for Game of Thrones' eighth and final season. The minute-long video doesn't feature clips from the actual show, but is instead a visual interpretation of the final clash in A Song of Ice and Fire, the George R. R. Martin novel series the show is based on. The elements are seen coming head-to-head on the Painted Table in Dragonstone. It's a reference to the White Walkers' winter taking over Westeros while humanity bands together under the fire of Daenerys' dragons.

You can check out the teaser via YouTube above.

The team behind the hit series has remained pretty tight-lipped about what the eighth season will deliver; however, director David Nutter insists showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have cooked up a solid ending.

“I think that David and Dan did a tremendous job, and they took into consideration what the fans want, as well as what is right as far as storytelling is concerned," Nutter recently said in a Reddit AMA. "I guarantee there's going to be lots of surprises and shocking moments, but it’s really very compelling stuff."

Game of Thrones will return April 2019 for its final six episodes.
