Cameras are everywhere these days, so it was only a matter of time before video surfaced of the moment an explosion rocked an apartment building in New York's East Village.
The security video from a nearby storefront was obtained by New York's ABC 7 and shows people calmly going about their business on the quiet street before the explosion, and reacting to the sudden shock after.
Four people were critically injured in the blast, which led to a fire and the eventual collapse of the entire building. Two people remain missing.
Investigators believe the explosion was caused by workers striking a gas line in the basement.
