Pee in the Shower to Help Save the Planet, Stephen Colbert Reminds Us

Peeing in the shower would reportedly save billions of gallons of water every year, and Stephen Colbert is totally on board with the idea.

It's finally okay to do that thing that everyone has been doing for years anyway—peeing in the shower. All it took was the worthy cause of saving the planet, as Stephen Colbert took some time to point out during his monologue on last night's Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The host made reference to a recent Newser report saying that peeing in the shower (aside from feeling great) would go a long way in helping to conserve the global fresh water supply.

It's not just water, either. That report notes that reducing peeing in the toilet once per day ('cause you're doing it in the shower) would save a whole roll of toilet paper per person every 50 days. Think of the trees!

Colbert, who's obviously in support of shower peeing, took a moment to hilariously demand an apology from those whose showers he has apparently peed in over the years.

And don't feel bad if you're a shower pee type of person, most people are. Buzzfeed ran a survey that showed that 81 percent of people regularly relieve themselves while rinsing off. So no, you're definitely not the only one doing it.
