Ezra Miller is facing social media backlash after a video has surfaced online in which they appear to choke a woman. Known for their roles in Fantastic Beasts and Justice League among other films, Miller has faced harsh criticism after the clip started to circulate on Twitter.
"Oh, you wanna fight? That's what you wanna do?" the person who appears to Miller says in the video.
When the person in the clip grabs the woman by the neck and pushes her into the wall, however, the tone changes completely with the person behind the camera expressing concern. The woman is slowly pushed to the floor. "Whoa, bro! Bro!" the cameraman can be heard saying.
The interaction reportedly took place in Reykjavik, Iceland, although it's not immediately clear when the video was taken.
Miller, who identifies as non-binary, has yet to respond to the clip.
On My Block star Diego Tinoco was one of the first celebrities to respond to the clip. "Insanely inhuman to disrespect and a harm a fan like that," Tinoco wrote. "Don't know the whole backstory but I don't think I have to. People get so clouded up in their heads with vanity they think they can do whatever they want to whoever they want. Fuck Ezra Miller."
