Justin Trudeau will become the first Prime Minister to participate in Toronto’s upcoming Pride festivities. The Prime Minister is expected to march in Toronto’s Pride parade on Sunday July 3rd.
Of course, this won’t be Trudeau’s first time attending Pride. He has attended Pride parades in Toronto and Vancouver for years – but never as leader of the country.
Trudeau tweeted that he looked forward to being there again, “This time as PM.”
Toronto's first-ever Pride Month launches Wednesday June 1st with a ‘You Can Sit With Us’ theme of belonging and inclusion. Along with Trudeau, Finance Minister Bill Morneau, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Mayor John Tory are also slated to take part in the festivities.
