Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sat down with 60 Minutes on Sunday night for a segment that delved into Trudeau’s political and familial past.
The segment included interviews with Canada’s new prime minister and his wife, Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, as well as footage of Justin Trudeau at his father's funeral, at his boxing club and at a winter carnival with his family.
The segment also briefly touched on the highly-publicized marriage of his parents, former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Trudeau. Only when it came to archival footage, there was a bit of a mix-up. 60 Minutes showed a black-and-white photo from 1981 of the elder Trudeau with former Sex and the City star (and Vancouver native) Kim Cattrall -- whom he famously dated – when talking of Pierre’s relationship with Margaret.
Cattrall took the error in good stride, sending out a tongue-in-cheek tweet saying she "couldn't be more proud" to have a son as the Prime Minister of Canada.
The 60 Minutes profile comes ahead of a big night for Canada's beloved PM — on Thursday, Trudeau will be hanging out with U.S. President Barack Obama as the first Canadian Prime Minister to be honoured with a state dinner at the White House in almost 20 years.
