On Wednesday night, 28-year-old Ian David Long killed 12 people at a local bar in Thousand Oaks, California before dying of a self-inflicted gunshot. A reporter from BuzzFeed News has confirmed one of the victims at Borderline Bar & Grill was Tamera Mowry-Housley's 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley.

“Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner,” Mowry and her husband Adam Housley wrote in a statement.

Following early reports of the shooting, The Real host contacted her niece's college roommate Ashley, who had posted photos of her on Twitter.

A reporter from L.A. Times tweeted on Thursday that Adam Housley went to the hospital looking for his niece, whose Apple devices still showed her location on the dance floor of the bar.

The bar was hosting its regular “College Country Nights," an 18-plus event where students like Alaina could attend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Housley family.
