The Weeknd has proven that he's no stranger to being in front of the camera—from releasing a flurry of short filmsthat coincided with his album, After Hours, to playing himself in the Safdie brothers Uncut Gems—but it looks like he might be trying his hand at some work behind the camera as well. The Toronto-born artist recently took to Twitter to promote his upcoming collaboration with Seth MacFarlane's animated show American Dad. Pictured with American Dad and Robot Chicken writer Joel Hurwitz, The Weeknd tweeted, "Me and this guy wrote an episode of American Dad. Also gonna play myself... kinda. MAY 4th !"

Set to air on May 4, the episode will not only be co-written by The Weeknd—who will also be appearing as himself—but will also feature an original song from the Grammy award-winning artist, Deadline reports. Season 16 of American Dad premieres on April 13, and feature guest appearances from Bill Nye, Jane Lynch, Patton Oswalt, Ron Perlman, Craig Robinson, and Criss Angel.

The Weeknd is also set to claim the top spot in Billboard Hot 100 for the second week in a row, as he's projected to move over 100,000 album equivalent units. The addition of "Nothing Compares," "Missed You" and "Final Lullaby" to the deluxe version of the album also looks to help maintain it's position on the charts.
