Issa Rae is on a roll. The multihyphenate is now set to star in another film, The Lovebirds, and the official trailer has arrived.
In the teaser, Rae and co-star Kumail Nanjiani, who are a couple, are unfortunately implicated in a strange crime. They go on a wild and funny journey as they try to clear their names. Watch the trailer above. The Lovebirds hits theaters on April 3.
Also forthcoming from Rae is the fourth season of Insecure. The actress shared a teaser online on Wednesday, where we see her in her new apartment, trying on multiple outfits, as she raps to herself in her new and much bigger mirror. In the last season, we saw Rae driving Lyft while planning her block party, re-entering the dating world, and job hunting.
“It's time to level up, ho, call me elevated/Not worried about no bullshit, not worried about no haters,” she spits to herself in the clip, as she gets ready to go to her mixer. “Ass getting fat,” she tells herself. The fourth season arrives on April 12.
And let’s not forget about Rae’s Valentine’s Day flick, The Photograph. Co-starring Lakeith Stanfield, the film focuses on a romance between an up-and-coming journalist and a woman healing from the wounds of her mother's death.
