In celebration of his 40th birthday on Sunday, John Krasinski started a campaign for the non-profit organization Family Reach, that'll see him work with Venmo to help raise money for the families of cancer patients.

Holy moly, I’m 40!?!?...... so what did you get me? Didn’t get me anything? Don’t worry I’m easy. Venmo: JKbday #JKbday @familyreach pic.twitter.com/Wtk8TfIkwA

Krasinski reached out to a few of his famous friends for support, and hung a little something over their head to ensure that he can successfully squeeze a sizable donation out of them. For instance, Krasinski threatened to cancel his upcoming appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Brooklyn if Kimmel didn't make a contribution.

Hey @jimmykimmel so excited to be doin the show in Brooklyn! My question is if you don’t donate... maybe I don’t? #emotionalblackmail #whateverittakes #JKbday @familyreach https://t.co/POUGm6qJRg

As for his friend Chris Evans, Krasinski jokingly played the guilt card by mentioning that it was the least he could do since he "robbed" him of the role of Captain America.

Alright getting into the afternoon here and this donation train keeps a rollin! Hey @ChrisEvans remember when you robbed me of the role of Captain America?... time to pay up? #JKbday @familyreach https://t.co/POUGm6qJRg

In an interview with Variety last year, Krasinski recalled  receiving the call informing him that he lost out on the role of Captain America to Evans. When he found out that Evans was their choice, Krasinski fully understood why they went with him, admitting, "Yeah, look at him. He’s Captain America."
