Dear White People is back with its third volume of reliably on-point satire next month. But first, Netflix is sharing a new trailer and key art for the latest installment of the Ivy League-mocking series.

Guest stars for Season 3 include Yvette Nicole Brown, Flavor Flav, LaVerne Cox, Blair Underwood, and creator Justin Simien.

Back in May, Simien announced the launch of a short film competition, prizes for which include a screening as part of the Dear White People Season 3 premiere and a consultation session. As far as rules go, applicants had to be enrolled in college and avoid vitriolic or hate speech in their entries, as such entires were disqualified outright for obvious reasons.

Expect the winner to be unveiled at the premiere event ahead of the new episodes' arriving on Netflix Aug. 2.

The third season renewal was announced by Netflix in June 2018, just weeks after the 10-episode second season debuted. In 2017, the series received a Breakthrough Series (Long Form) nomination at the Gotham Independent Film Awards.

"I didn't want you to feel like you were just watching a warmed-up version of season one that somehow lost its bite or urgency," Simien told A.V. Clublast year of the higher stakes found in the second batch of episodes. "I think the times are more urgent, and it requires the show to reflect that."
