The wait for Game of Thrones Season 8 has become a bit more bearable.
After sharing precious few cryptic teasers over the last couple of months, HBO has released a batch of first-look photos for the series' eighth and final season. The images don't reveal much about the closing chapter (no surprise there), but we did get to see close-ups of the main characters, most sporting disturbed looks on their faces. Understandable, as they're about to go head-to-head with the Night King, his White Walkers, and the army of the dead.
The photos include shots of Kit Harrington as Jon Snow, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, and Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth. You can begin dissecting them for clues below.
Game of Thrones Season 8 will premiere April 14. The series' creators and cast have remained tight-lipped about what the finale will deliver, but Harington insists fans will be "satisfied."
"I'm so excited for people to see it," Harington said last month during an appearance on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. "I think it's going to be extraordinary, hopefully it'll change TV again like it did originally, and break boundaries. I think it might. ... It's like when you finish a book, you're not happy it's over are you? You don't finish a good book and say, 'I'm happy I finished that.' But you have this grief that it's over, and it's exactly same with nine years doing this show."
