For the past several years, former Disney star Orlando Brown has endured public scrutiny over his questionable mental state as well as a series of legal scandals. The 31-year-old actor has been placed behind bars for a number of charges that include alleged domestic battery, drug possession, and resisting an officer. Brown has seemingly been on a downward spiral, which is why his good friend and manager Solomon Barron turned to Dr. Phil for help.
On Friday's episode of the Dr. Phil, Brown confronted his turmoil in an intervention-like interview. The actor, who appeared with snake-eye contact lenses, made plenty of questionable statements throughout the sit-down, such as claiming to be Michael Jackson's son.
"My full name is Orlando Brown Prince Michael Jackson Jr. aka Blanket," Brown said with a laugh. "[...] My father was Michael Jackson, the great Michael Jackson [...] I used to always wonder why I'm so astronomically blessed and gifted when it comes to being talented. I rap, sing, and I do everything immaculately. The eyes. And also just speaking to different Jackson family members that, you know, have confirmed it. So yeah, it's a blessing to know that. I can sit here today and say, that yeah, that Michael Jackson was my father."
Brown also spoke about his family life, claiming he had a handful of kids, some of whom he has never met. The actor said his children were between the ages of 2 and 11: "2-year-old still in the belly. We don't know [the name] yet," he told Dr. Phil.
The actor went on to say that he once struggled with alcohol and marijuana abuse, but has been sober for the last four years. Brown also said he wants to tie the knot with Raven-Symoné, his former That's So Raven co-star.
"I want to marry her. I have to find out a way to ask her," he said. "Right now, I'm just chilling."
Toward the end of the episode, which was reportedly filmed in October, Dr. Phil introduced Brown to a doctor with Creative Care, an addiction and mental health treatment center in Malibu. Brown initially refused to enter the facility, insisting he was too busy; however, Dr. Phil later announced that the actor had a change of heart and is currently at Creative Care receiving treatment.
