Jason Momoa is combating rumors that Henry Cavill is done playing Superman.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Aquaman star flatly rejected the idea that Cavill had hung up his cape for good.
“I just talked to Henry… He’s absolutely not [leaving the character],” he said. “He loves the character, he’s not. 100 percent.”
Reports have been swirling for months that Cavill was moving on from his time as Supes. AVariety report from earlier this year claimed that Warner Brothers was looking to recast Batman and Superman.
"[Warner Bros.] is not moving forward with Batman and Superman movies featuring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, respectively. It is expected to recast the Dark Knight with a different actor."
This news came after negotiations to have Cavill in the upcoming Shazam! movie reportedly fell apart. Warner Bros. danced around the subject in a statement they shared with Deadline.
“We have a great relationship and great respect for Henry Cavill that continues to remain unchanged. Additionally, we have made no current decisions regarding any upcoming Superman films,” they said.
If Cavill is going to walk away from Superman, he needs to call the Justice League together and get them all on the same page.
