Of all the controversies the Kardashians get embroiled in throughout the course of a year, the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal, which reached a peak just days before Khloé Kardashian gave birth to the couple’s daughter True, was one of the saddest. Thompson was caught with at least five different women who were definitely not Khloé. When Khloé stayed silent, her sister Kim Kardashian was one of the most outspoken, calling the situation “fucked up” and even getting herself blocked by Thomspon on Instagram.
During an On Air with Ryan Seacrest interview, the business mogul revealed the family spoke at length about the cheating allegations and discussed how to react, and a good chunk of those conversations will be featured on the next season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
When asked about the “tough conversation” she had with Khloé as she watched the cheating allegations unfold in the media, Kim confirmed that she and whole family “genuinely” had multiple sit-downs about it. Some of these discussions were filmed, and the sisters also talked about how to approach the whole mess even when Khloé “wanted her privacy and no cameras when she was in Cleveland.”
"It was definitely new territory for us when you have a new baby coming into the world," Kim continued. "I think ultimately we always want her to be happy, but it gets all clouded when there's a baby. Her motherly instincts kicked in and she has to do what makes her happy so we'll support that." To be clear, it appears Khloé’s decision has been to move on with Thompson rather than without him.
Kim also spoke about how Khloé being far away in Cleveland for the birth riled up the close family and caused drama even beyond Thompson’s infidelity. "There was a moment where we were all flying to Cleveland when she went into labor and we were filming and [Kris] didn't want anyone to know she was in labor," Kim explained. "So my mom just left and got on a plane and then Khloé called us.” Kim and the rest of her sisters had to get on a separate plane. “We were like, 'This is so stupid! We all need to be together and go through this!' And it was like so much drama getting there."
Kim has spoken about the situation before, but she was much more direct about her feelings then. In April, during an appearance on Ellen, Kim said the whole family was “rooting for Khloé, and we still are.” She added that her sister is "so strong and she’s doing the best that she can. It’s a really sad situation all over.”
