Chris Hemsworth is apparently in early talks with Sony to star in the Men in Black relaunch, according to Variety. The company is considering making the Marvel star one of the two agents in the 2019 film, which could be...interesting.

At the beginning of February, news broke that F. Gary Gray is interested in directing the spinoff, coming off the success of Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious, which was 2017’s third highest-grossing film after it made a whopping $1.2 billion off of a $250 million budget.

With a great director possibly at the helm, it’s no surprise that Sony is now looking for fresh talent, since Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones already decided not to reprise their iconic roles in the film. The new movie will stick to the same premise of the originals: the story of a secret task force with the duty of policing a hidden alien population. Smith and Lee ran their course with the franchise after two sequels, and now it looks like Hemsworth may be stepping up to take one of their roles.

Since Hemsworth is known for his appearances as a superhero and action-movie muscle in films like Thor and 12 Strong, it’s a little hard to imagine him becoming a suited agent that battles intergalactic scum—or comically wipes people’s memory with a neuralyzer—but hey I could be wrong.
