You’re probably having a hard enough time keeping those new year’s resolutions to eat healthier, and we’re here with some news that might sabotage you even further: Much-loved burger chain Shake Shack is finally making its way to the Great White North. The insanely popular fast food chain announced via Twitter that it will host a one day pop-up next week on January 18 at Momofuku Daisho in Toronto. This marks the chain’s first ever venture in Canada.
Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in New York City before eventually moving to a larger stand and expanding its menu to include burgers, fries, and the chains famous milkshakes. The chain now boasts locations around the United States—from South Beach to Texas—and a number of international locations in London, Moscow and Beirut, and has fans in celebrities from Jessie J to Jaden Smith to Barack Obama.
The pop-up will run between 12:30 and 6:30 pm with a limited number of burgers and fries available. It’s not a full menu that you’d find in permanent locations but expect all the favourites including the Shack Burgers which are made with 100% all natural Angus beef, something the chain is adamant about, and dressed with their signature Shack Sauce. If that wasn’t tantalizing enough, $1 from every order will be donated to SickKids.
While this is just a one day pop up, could Shake Shack be testing the waters for a permanent location in the 6? Only time will tell, but for now get ready to throw some ‘bows in the name of burgers on January 18, since everything will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Some of you might remember the In-N-Out pop ups a few years ago, so if this is anything similar then you can expect there to be huge lineups.
