After a video showing a Texas police officer violently arresting teenagers and grabbing a girl by her hair and throwing her to the ground surfaced over the weekend, the officer was suspended. It's been reported that police responded to the pool party following calls about a disturbance, and a new video appears to show teens fighting prior to the officer's arrival.

According to Breitbart, a McKinney, Texas subdivision played host to a party celebrating the end of the school year. The trouble reportedly arose when teens who had not been invited began to show up:

Many teens who were not residents of the subdivision began showing up. Some had been invited by residents, some had not. An ad for the event had been placed on social media sites.

Teens who were not invited began climbing the fence to get in, according to reports from residents of the area. Trouble began when they were asked to leave by residents and pool management.

Breirbart adds the resulting fights are what precipitated the video which shows Cpl. Eric Casebolt grabbing 15-year-old Dajerria Becton by the hair and shoving her to the ground:

Police were called to the scene and attempted to get some of the trespassers to sit down while they investigated. Many of the teens fled and police chased some of them down. This is when the video of the incident with police began. There does not appear to be any video of the initial police contact with the teens.

In a Facebook post, resident Benet Embry gave his account of what transpired, alleging that race was not a factor:

Look, I LIVE in this community and this ENTIRE incident is NOT racial at all, Embry wrote. A few THUGS spoiled a COMMUNITY event by fighting, jumping over fences into a PRIVATE pool, harassing and damaging property. Not EVERYTHING is about RACE. WE have other issues that NEED our attention other flights of made up make believe causes.

The investigation continues, and the McKinney Fraternal Order of Police released a statement yesterday saying that they yet to "fully examine" the initial video.
