Original Star Trek-ker, Leonard Nimoy, a.k.a. “Spock” was taken to a hospital last week after suffering severe chest pains.

The 82-year-old star was reportedly rushed to the UCLA Medical Center on Thursday, say law enforcement sources, after paramedics didn’t want to risk Nimoy’s well-being. Nimoy’s been no stranger to hospitals in the past months. Last year he announced he was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as a result of years of smoking.

The captain seems to be in good spirits though, tweeting this yesterday:

A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP

Here's wishing Nimoy a speedy recovery. May he live long and prosper.
