Shots were reportedly fired outside of Vice President Joe Biden's Delaware home last night, authorities say. Biden was not home at the time of the incident, nor was his wife.

According to the New York Times, the Secret Service says a "speeding vehicle" opened fire at Biden's home in Greenville, Del. just before 8:30 p.m. The Times adds that it's unclear whether or not any of the shots struck Biden's home, or if it was the intended target.

The vehicle was able to evade the Secret Service and local police, but both are looking into the situation. Secret Service Spokesman Edwin Donovan told the Times that the agency is collaborating with authorities in New Castle County on an investigation.
