Google has released their year-end trend statistics for 2014, revealing what is really going on in the collective consciousness of the entire world. In the race for “most searched,” here are the top five results:

1. Robin Williams
2. World Cup
3. Ebola
4. Malaysia Airlines
5. Flappy Bird

The Williams result is obviously sad, and most of the others make sense given that they were some of the year’s biggest stories and events. You kind of have to respect Flappy Bird for making its way into the top five when it is just a simple phone app, too.

As for people, it appears #BreakTheInternet came along too late to stop The Fappening:

1. Jennifer Lawrence
2. Kim Kardashian
3. Tracy Morgan
4. Ray Rice
5. Tony Stewart

J-Law’s big year both on the movie screen and computer screens made her a highly-sought after figure, vaulting her ahead of the woman who vowed to destroy the internet. Morgan’s accident certainly continues to be a sad story and underscores how much people love the comedian, while both Rice and Stewart were involved in high-profile incidents where each was directly involved in hurting someone else.

Other leaders include Budweiser (the most searched beer), ALS research (most searched donation), and Tim Howard (most searched meme). You can check out the full results over at Google Trends.
