Michael Dunn, the Florida man who shot and killed 17-year-old Jordan Davis in November 2012, has been found guilty of first-degree murder.

Dunn, 47, was charged with murder after opening fire into a car which carried Davis and his friends at a Jacksonville gas station. Dunn claimed that he shot into the vehicle out of fear because he believed at least one of the teens had a weapon. However, Dunn fired 10 shots into the teens' vehicle (three of which struck Davis), continuing to fire even after they fled.

In February, he was found guilty of second-degree murder and attempted murder charges, yet the jury was strangely hung on the first-degree murder charge. Deliberation on new charges began at 10 a.m. this morning, and the jury reached a verdict this afternoon.

Dunn's initial conviction warranted a maximum of 60 years in prison.
