According to authorities in Indiana, a man killed his 13-year-old neighbor because the boy laughed at him.
WGN-TV reports that the Gary, Ind. native returned home on Friday after being released from jail to discover that his home had been vandalized. During his attempt to gather information from neighbors, he reportedly got into an argument with Kobe Jones, allegedly shooting the teen nine times on his front porch.
Jones' father, Kaunda, told WGN-TV that the unidentified man shot his son because he laughed at him.
Though the man and his girlfriend fled the scene following the shooting, local authorities apprehended them. Charges related to the shooting are pending.
