If you haven’t been pumped for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes yet, this new clip from the movie should go a long way towards changing your mind. In it, we see the ape Koba playing dumb while interacting with some humans in the new wasteland. We won’t spoil the payoff here, but needless to say these apes have some sinister intentions for humanity.
The seamless blend of real actors and state-of-the-art CGI is really something to behold. It was impressive for the dramatic beats in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and it looks like the action, horror, and humor in Dawn are benefiting from it as well. The clip is certainly unsettling, but if this is a sign of things to come, then it’s safe to say Dawn could be one of the summer’s highlights.
