No More NYC Subway Fun, Per the NYPD

As the crackdown on subway performers continues in New York City, commutes are getting more boring.

The NYPD wants to make your subway commute more safe, less annoying and less entertaining.

According to the Daily Intelligencer, city officials claim that 46 subway performers who were bold enough to perform subway acrobatics have been charged with reckless endangerment this year alone. Another 50, though more modest, were still charged with disorderly conduct.

NBC New York reports that the MTA is sending all rider complaints directly to police. This, apparently, is one of the things (almost) new NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton wanted to crack down on. Subway performers will have to find a new venue, and a new audience.
