[UPDATE] Creative Assembly has clarified that there will be no co-op mode in Isolation, the listing was a mistake. Check out this trailer that just dropped:

Original story follows:

New details have appeared shedding a little more light on developer Creative Assembly's (known for the Total War series) Alien: Isolation as the title has appeared in the Xbox Games Store.

Alien: Isolation will veer away from the failed action model of most recent Aliens themed games - most notably the big stinker Aliens: Colonial Marines – and attempt to return to the series roots as a survival horror game. Hopefully following the path of the terrifying Alien and less of its action sequel Aliens.

Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation," reads the game's description spotted by user lifelower, "a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger."

"Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien."

"Underpowered and under-prepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.”

Alien:Isolation will also include a four-player co-operative mode but just how that will work no one is sure. At least Creative Assembly is trying something new to bring the long-stinking Alien video game series some respect.
