Summer's here, and you'll know it's in full swing if you've stepped outside for the last two weeks. This kind of heat isn't good for anybody—except anyone who likes seeing girls in bikinis.

To celebrate, we've compiled a gallery of our favorite beach-ready bikini-clad ladies in video games. And trust us—the research that went into this was excruciatingly hard.

Enjoy! And if we missed any, we'd appreciate if you'd let us know in the comments or on Twitter. Don't forget a link!

bikini zombies

Bikini Zombies

Dead Island

So they're probably not our first choice, but at least they're pretty lively, considering, you know, the whole zombie thing.

Hostess

Dream Club Zero

Dream Club Zero is one of the most perverted games we've never played, and despite the bikinis we have no interest to. She has the face of an 11-year-old. It's kind of creepy.

2D Babes in a 3D World

Duke Caribbean: Life's a Beach

If you haven't heard of this expansion pack for Duke Nukem 3D, you clearly didn't play enough FPS games in the 90s. If you had, you'd have been ogling like the rest of us.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterful

Beating this survival horror game in the Xbox version won you sexy bikinis for the two leading ladies. Check out this Youtube video if you think that made it any less terrifying.

hot dog king

Hot Dog Girl

Hot Dog King: A Fast Food Empire

Basically all you need to know about this one is that it was a business simulator, and that its original title was Hotdogs Hotgals. We're guessing she'd rather be outside than selling hot dogs. They could at least have let her push the cart!

reiko

Reiko

Rumble Roses series

The graphics in the Rumble Roses series can come off slightly wonky (see left), so we thought it would be nice to throw a higher-quality image in there as well to demonstrate just why we love Reiko.

outlaw volleyball

Every girl in it

Outlaw Volleyball

Outlaw Volleyball was sort of a lousy volleyball game, but there were plenty of other reasons to play it.

poison ivy

Poison Ivy

Batman: Arkham Asylum

There are plenty of fucked up poisonous plants in the ocean, so we're guessing Ivy would feel right at home on the beach if she'd ever get out in the sun once in a while. Although we kind of dig her pale skin.

jade

Jade

Mortal Kombat series

Jade's outfits have certainly gotten more "interesting" over the years, culminating in this gem (emerald?) from Mortal Kombat 9.

lara croft

Lara Croft

Tomb Raider Underworld: Beneath the Ashes

It's a sign of the times we live in that the industry would pump out Tomb Raider titles featuring sex bomb Lara Croft and then make us pay to deck her out in a bikini in the DLC.

Ivy

Soul Calibur series

We can't resist that look in her eyes. You know, the one that says, "I'm definitely thinking about eating your face." Oh wait, it was her massive breasts we can't resist. The eyes terrify our souls.

forsworn

Forsworn warriors

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Okay, seriously Forsworn lady? You live on a god damned snowy mountain. Not to mention you're supposed to be ready for battle. There is no way that shit is appropriate attire.

Final Fantasy X-2

Rikku's new outfit was the number one reason to play Final Fantasy X-2.

Finish line trophy girl

Cruis'n World

Who could forget the rapturous finish line trophy girl in the game too lazy to have a "the" in the title?

nikki benz

Nikki Benz

Saints Row: The Third

Yes, that Nikki Benz. Saints Row 3 had plenty of skin in it already, but then Nikki and some of her esteemed colleagues joined in for the Penthouse DLC pack, and there was much rejoicing.

cammy

Cammy

Street Fighter series

Cammy is a staple of the Street Fighter series, and it's not difficult to see why.

Aya

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad

Meet Aya. She's a samurai. She wears a bikini. And she's the leader of a whole squad of similarly talented/dressed women. They slay zombies. The end!

Bikini girl

Banjo Kazooie

Oh, Bikini Girl. How we wish we could have gotten to know you better. Instead, you just showed up at the end of the game to serve us cocktails and giant watermelons. Sigh.

Sex vixens…from space

Sex Vixens From Space

Admittedly, we've never played this wondrously conceived Amiga game, but all it takes is a quick Google image search to know that it's our favorite game ever. Look at those metal gladiator two-pieces! You can tell they mean business.

swimmer

Swimmer

Pokemon series

The female swimmer has been tickling our imaginations ever since she first showed up in the old school Pokemon games to unleash her wimpy Tentacool and Goldeen on us. Pikachu made short work of them, but she always stuck in our hearts.

Juliet

Lollipop Chainsaw

There's no question as to exactly what Juliet's appeal is, and the extra costumes in Lollipop Chainsaw play directly to her strengths.

Katy Perry

The Sims 3: Katy Perry's Sweet Treats

They're cupcakes. The sweet treats are cupcakes. Now get your mind out of the gutter and stare at Katy Perry with us.

dead or alive

Seriously all of them

Dead or Alive Xtreme series

We have spent long nights unhealthily obsessing over the girls of Dead or Alive, and the fan service in the Xtreme Beach Volleyball spin-offs is not helping us become better people. But really, people? You leave out the series' one black female from this image?

samus

Samus

Metroid series

It was the ultimate shock when, upon completing the original NES Metroid, it was revealed that the badass galactic bounty hunter was actually a woman: the now-beloved Samus. And that she looked smokin' in a 20-pixel two-piece.
