30-year-old Joseph Ramirez of San Diego has been accused of attempting to sacrifice three children in Mount Hope Cemetery, including his own 8-year-old son. What in the name of Abraham and Isaac would possess a man to do something like that? The spirit of his deceased grandmother, let him tell it.
Corey Granberry and Jaymisha Pires separated the children from Ramirez as he was slashing his son's arm with a shard of glass. According to Pires, he kept repeating, "We're going to Jesus, we're going to Jesus," before taking off.
A cemetery security guard took him down, and he was taken to a local hospital. Authorities say he will be charged with child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon. Meanwhile, his son was taken to Rady’s Children’s Hospital and treated for his injuries.
