Actually, she only appeared to. While mingling at the launch party for jewelry line Y&J Multiplicty by Robert Verdi, the infamously uncensored star of Boardwalk Empire, who once said she was growing a "period bush" for the HBO series, revealed a major plot detail of her show's second season finale (which aired last December) to one of the curious guests.
De la Huerta, who played Nucky's mistress and Van Alden's baby mama Lucy Danziger, went too far with indulging the fan with a requested "teaser" and let slip that her character's baby dies. It actually does not die, though we can't say if she drunkenly misremembered or was screwing with this person. Regardless, media types ran with the story that she'd blown a major plot line. Whether this incident had anything to do with her not being renewed for next season has yet to be determined.

In 2006, de la Huerta and Jack Nicholson got the rumor mill running when they walked the red carpet together at the premiere of The Departed. When asked about her relationship to the actor in an interview with The New York Times Magazine, de la Huerta revealed that she had met Nicholson at a party at The Roosevelt Hotel when she was 19.
De la Huerta told the interviewer, "[Jack Nicholson] said to me: 'They don’t make them like you anymore. I haven’t seen a beautiful girl like you since 1965.' I said, 'Let’s go make my boyfriend jealous.' So he had me cornered, and he was flirting with me, and my boyfriend got completely jealous. We’ve stayed friends."

She kept up the performance, allegedly to arouse no one in particular, until she was escorted out.

In an interview with VH1, Del Rey told the story of her first encounter with her apparent muse. According to the singer, she had noticed a beautiful woman exposing her breasts in the crowd during her performance of "Video Games" and was later told by her manager off-stage that the flasher had been none other than de la Huerta.

According to New York mag, de la Huerta preferred to conduct their interview in a sauna after a long day of filming Boardwalk Empire, and because "the construction worker [she'd] been fucking [had] been keeping [her] up late." Uncomfortable in even a towel, de la Huerta opted to go nude and allegedly started rubbing her breasts while discussing her love life. It should be noted that the sauna wasn't private, as other bathhouse patrons looked at her like she was a crazy person, albeit a sexy one.

While being escorted back to her car, de la Huerta's dress slipped off, revealing more skin than any SFW site would allow to be seen, and the paparazzi even snapped her falling over a curb, taking her handler down with her.

Despite all of the actress' altercations, none landed her in court. That is, until she took on MTV reality star Samantha Swetra. During an incident at the Standard Hotel in New York, a boozed up de la Huerta allegedly got so upset by a snide remark Swetra made about her pratfall that the actress threw a drink at the reality star's leg, before connecting her fist with the girl's face.
Some sources stated that the glass shattered and clung to Swetra's leg, causing it to bleed profusely. For proof, Swetra took a photo of her bruised lip, which was obtained by TMZ. De la Huerta was eventually charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault, and harassment.
