Rumors of a new Gorillaz album have been circulating for over a year now, but today we got some exciting details about the next project from Damon Albarn's popular animated band. Speaking with The Guardian, De La Soul's Pos revealed that his crew will reunite with Gorillaz following their wildly popular collaboration, "Feel Good Inc." and 2010's Plastic Beach standout "Superfast Jellyfish."

If that news wasn't enough to get fans salivating, Pos also confirmed that Snoop Dogg will make an appearance on the project as well: "With Damon, it was easy because we love working with him. We’re about to be on the new Gorillaz album. Snoop was also performing on the record when we were over there."

This follows rumblings that the rollout of a new project is approaching, fueled by Albarn's comments that "later in the year we’ll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together.” Pos also hinted that the album was being worked on as recently as a couple weeks ago.

"We actually sat down with Damon two weeks ago and he played us some of the new Gorillaz album, and it sounds amazing," he explained. "[Damon] played us a track that he wants us to get off on his album so we got to get in the studio and put that down."

Revisit both of De La Soul's appearances on Gorillaz songs below (as well as Snoop's verse on "Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach").
