Following their 2011 mixtape Return Of The Dozen Pt. 2, D12 has returned with a new Halloween-centric mixtape The Devil’s Night Mixtape, which echoes the title of their 2001 debut LP, Devil’s Night.

Interestingly, the mixtape originally did not feature any contributions from Eminem, as Kuniva explained: “Eminem didn’t make this project at all. He tried as much as he could, but he didn’t make it. We could’ve waited for him to go ahead and do it, but we wanted to really just let people know that we’re also emcees too and we can handle ourselves. We know how to do this shit. We need to reinvent ourselves. Everybody knows who Em is. So, we wanted to showcase ourselves on this and show people we could hold our own as emcees.”

Despite that statement, the mixtape was very quickly updated following its initial release to include a new introduction by Eminem and other additional tracks. Although it’s not entirely clear at the moment what Eminem’s involvement in the group will be going forward, Kuniva also said, “This is just an appetizer for some shit to come. This is just a reintroduction of what’s to come.”
