Francis - "Traktor"

Just a couple of weeks ago I was pointing you in the direction of Simian Ghost and their delightful, sparkling track “Wolf Girl“, and whilst only one of you commented on the post (thanks Mum!), I consider it my duty to continue ramming Scandinavian pop music down your throats until you choke on beautiful melodies and die of perfectly written choruses. Where Simian Ghost base their tracks on shimmering electronic backgrounds, Francis have more of a straight up indie sound, with “Traktor”(funky cover art above) showing off a superbly catchy riff and lead-singer Petra’s husky, warm vocals.

Listen to “Traktor” below, and if you’re yearning for an atmospheric and electronic rework, never fear – Simian Ghost have provided one for you. These two songs are out now and can be purchased on iTunes or streamed on Spotify. Be on the lookout for Francis’ great This Must Be Blood EP which will be released 27th February, and I leave you with the following description of the band’s founding, courtesy of Francis themselves:

FRANCIS was founded in 2006 as a cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Since then the band has acted both Samaritan and the Reaper for childhood friends Petra Mases, Petter Nygårdh, Jerker Henriksson and Tim Grundtman.

Cardio-whatary what?
