Earlier today, M.I.A. confirmed that she’s releasing a new album entitled A.I.M. this September. Now she’s shared the new Skrillex and Blaqstarr-featuring single, “Go Off,” which gives a tantalizing tease of the forthcoming record. Premiered via Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, the song is a typical M.I.A. banger with a robust instrumental. After premiering the song, Annie talked to M.I.A. via the phone to discuss her upcoming album and her often ambitious music videos.

Saying that A.I.M. will probably be her last album, M.I.A. explained that it was the “cleanest” album she’s ever made. “It’s my last record, so I just want it to be happy, and there to be no complaints on it.” She continued, when asked about it being her last album, she said, “I think so, I want time to go and do some other stuff. I’m sure I’ll put music out and make music, but as an album it kind of just came together. I started making it after I made ‘Borders’, and it just seemed to write itself quickly.”

Speaking about Blaqstarr and Skrillex working on the track together, M.I.A. explained that she wanted to bring the two artists together because of their completely different worlds. She also mentioned how she wants to release a music video for “Go Off” that features no human beings in it, explaining, “I am not messing with human beings right now.” She also flexed about how British Labour politician Jeremy Corbyn followed on Twitter, and she seems very happy about it.
