UPDATE 13/10: After over 24 hours of rapping through every 80's and 90's hip hop classic imaginable as well as his own extensive catalog, West Coast legend Murs has officially set the Guinness World Record for longest rap marathon. Rapping roughly 20 songs an hour, Murs performed about 480 songs by the time his livestream ended. Murs took on the challenge as part of Murs' and Boost Mobile’s "Where You At? L.A." event, which included performances from YG and Casey Veggies.

Plenty of rappers brag that they can rap for hours and that they've got bars for days, but not many mean that literally—except for Murs. At an attempt to set a Guinness World Record, Murs is currently challenging himself to rap for 24 hours straight. As a way to keep him motivated, and honest, Murs has set things up so that his World Record attempt can be live streamed.

In order to quality for the record, Murs will have to rap continuously for a full 24 hours (with an allowed five minute break for each hour). Murs is currently only one hour into his challenge, he's got a long way to go but it looks like this might be breeze for him. So far he's been performing tracks from a mix of different artists, turning the event in a fun rap karaoke of sorts.
