Many of the attendees at the Grammy Awards in New York tonight are delivering a message, from artists wearing white roses in unity with the #MeToo moment to Janelle Monae's powerful speech. Lorde got involved too, with an excerpt from an essay by visual artist Jenny Holzer pinned to her dress.

“My version of a white rose — THE APOCALYPSE WILL BLOSSOM — an excerpt from the greatest of all time, Jenny Holzer,” Lorde wrote on Instagram. The text is taken from Holzer’s “Inflammatory Essays,” written in the late 1970s. Some of the text reads, "Rejoice! Our times are intolerable. Take courage, for the worst is a harbinger of the best. Only dire circumstance can precipitate the overthrow of oppressors." See the image shared by Lorde below.

Holzer recently collaborated with Virgil Abloh on a t-shirt in support of Planned Parenthood while Lorde is nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for Melodrama.
