19-year-old Boston artist Clairo is one of our new favorites, and we're looking forward to seeing what she does next. The talented songwriter has released mostly lo-fi, bedroom pop so far, but she's hinted at a fuller sound in the future. We can't wait for that, but in this latest performance she's returning to the intimate, no-frills sound that she's known for, and she's doing it from her bed.

Bedroom performances are nothing new for Clairo, but this one is special. It's for the #BedstockChallenge, which has The Children's Cancer Association and MyMusicRx asking artists (and anyone else with a voice) to share performances from their bed.

I don’t perform this song anymore, but it represents a defining moment in my life where I turned to music when I needed it most.

From Bedstock.com: "Bedstock is a one-of-a-kind, life-changing music festival, where artists play from bed for sick kids stuck in theirs. It helps raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Cancer Association’s flagship MyMusicRx program that delivers the healing power of music to kids and teens with serious illness."

Speaking about "Bubble Gum," Clairo shares with us that it's a song that she wrote when she was 16 years old. "It was one of the first songs I made where I sat on my bed, picked up my guitar, and just wrote whatever was on my mind," she says. "I don’t perform this song anymore, but it represents a defining moment in my life where I turned to music when I needed it most. I hope that by performing this song for Bedstock, others can seek solace within it.”
