Back in October, during his performance at the final show of Red Bull Sound Select's A Quest for Love Tour alongside Mick Jenkins, Smino premiered a new Sango-produced single for the Chicago crowd. It turns out the lucky audience in attendance that night heard a preview of the title track from Smino's forthcoming debut album blkswn.
Thankfully, Smino returns today to share "blkswn" in full for the rest of us to enjoy. Smino links up with Sango once again, this time for something much more relaxed than their last collaboration "Lemon Pon Goose." Sango provides a laid-back rhythm for the single with just enough bounce to nod along to, the St. Louis rapper effortlessly floats right over the smooth beat to create a lead single that deserves a few replays.
Smino explains the title and subject matter of his new single saying, "Black swans are beautiful, too. I'm not gonna let that shit make me feel sad or sorry for myself. I can't help how I am. I'm just gonna be more proud of it." With his new album blkswn due out in 2017, Smino plans to pick up where blkjuptr left off and dig even deeper.
