Solange's acclaimed third studio album A Seat at the Table has debuted at number one on this week's Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports. The album has sold an impressive 72,000 album equivalent units overall, with 46,000 in traditional album sales. Solange had a much stronger debut than expected, as Billboard initially predicted she would move 60,000 units in her opening week. A Seat at the Table is her first full-length release since her 2008 album Sol-Angel And The Hadley St Dreams, which debuted at number nine.

Although Bon Iver's long-awaited 22, A Million was originally projected to hold the number one spot, the Wisconsin band's album debuted at number two on the chart, moving 71,000 units. While A Seat at the Table surpasses 22, A Million in overall sales, 22, A Million moved more units in traditional sales, placing it atop the Top Album Sales chart. 22, A Million would have been Bon Iver's first number one debut.

Solange's victory marks a unique milestone for the songstress and her sister Beyoncé, as they are now the first pair of siblings to debut solo projects at number one within the same year since Michael and Janet Jackson accomplished the feat in 2001. Beyoncé earned her sixth number one album with Lemonade earlier in 2016.
