People who go to concerts a lot may be often heard expressing how going to see different bands in concert on a frequent basis makes them feel alive, or something else that may initially sound a bit cliché. But it turns out, these people are on to something.

Deakin University in Australia conducted a new study to test "the connection between habitual music engagement and subjective wellbeing." For their study, they interviewed 1,000 people to come to a conclusion. Their results "revealed that engaging with music by dancing or attending musical events was associated with higher subjective wellbeing than for those who did not engage with music in these forms."

Although on the surface, the short answer seems to be that going out to enjoy live music or rather, just enjoying music in social settings could result in a noticeable increase of a person's happiness, it seems the study was meant to inspire a bigger goal. The closing of the study's statement reads: "The insight gained from these findings can be used to inform future interventions and to better understand how music is involved in emotional regulation."

For now, go out and enjoy live music but let's hope a few incredible shows helps inspire the next inventor to create something to benefit the wellbeing of generations to come.
