Watch Jack Garratt Turn Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love" into a Soulful Ballad

Most of us know Beyoncé’s 2003 Jay Z-featuring “Crazy In Love” as an irresistible song that’s inspired countless awkward dance moves at wedding receptions all over the world. Between Beyoncé’s “oh oh ohhs” and that famous bouncy beat, it’s the kind of track you just can’t help but move to—no matter who are you.

Sitting down in front of a keyboard, Jack Garratt flipped that celebratory energy in a more soulful direction for his contribution to Triple J’s “Like A Version” series. Opening with solemn piano chords and a soft vocal delivery, even Garratt couldn’t resist belting out the song’s chorus the track progressed, however. Watch his cover above and check out the accompanying performance of Phase standout “Surprise Yourself” below.
