DJ Drama Admits the Drake and Meek Mill Beef "Blew Out of Proportion" After One Conversation

"I had a conversation with my man about something and from there it just blew out of proportion."

DJ Drama’s new album Quality Street Music 2 is due out on July 22. Ahead of its release, Drama stopped by Hot 97’s morning show Ebro in the Morning earlier today to promote it and discuss an array of other topics.

During the interview, Ebro asked if the new album featured any guest appearances from either Meek Mill or Drake—considering they had both made appearances in the past. But neither of them will be featured on this particular album. This question of course circled back to the conversation about the infamous beef between Drake and Meek Mill.

Drama agreed to discuss this topic for the last time, to hopefully clear things up for good. “My involvement in the situation was that my man thought he was getting dissed,” he admitted. “I had a conversation with my man about something and from there it just blew out of proportion.” DJ Drama explained that after Meek heard Drake’s line on “R.I.C.O.” (“the girl of your dreams to me is probably not a challenge”), Meek felt he was being disrespected in regards to his relationship to Nicki Minaj.

According to Drama, the entire beef “blew out of proportion” after one conversation with Meek. He further explained to Meek that Drake wasn’t dissing him, saying that “those weren’t technically his bars”—which later on led to Meek Mill tweeting about Drake using ghostwriters.
