Detail is a rapper and producer who perhaps most notably appeared on Drake’s song “305 to My City.” He also worked on “Own It,” alongside a number of other big tracks from notable artists including Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Wayne among others. TMZ is reporting that things between Drake and Detail turned sour following his work on Nothing Was the Same, and Detail is planning to sue Drake for allegedly getting his bodyguard to beat him up.
Detail is filing a lawsuit relating to the incident, which supposedly took place back in 2014. According to the lawsuit, Drake offered Detail a deal as an exclusive producer for OVO Sound, but Detail wasn’t interested in sticking with just Drake. The lawsuit states that Drake wasn’t too happy about Detail’s choice, and invited him back over for another meeting to try and sort things out. Under the pretense of working together again, Detail says he arrived at Drake’s house at 2 a.m. only to be greeted by Drake’s bodyguard, Chubbs, who proceeded to punch Detail in the face.
Detail claims that Chubbs yelled, “I will beat all your asses, including your bitches. I don’t give a fuck. I will hit you again. Do you think Drake is soft? You think Drake’s a punk?” Detail is seeking an undisclosed sum of money.
