Kesha Says She Has Been Offered "Freedom" If She Retracts Rape Claims and Publicly Apologizes

Kesha

Kesha has been engaged in a legal battle with her former producer Dr. Luke since October 2014, after she filed a lawsuit against him for “mental manipulation, emotional abuse, and sexual assault.” On February 19, a New York judge denied Kesha’s attempt for an injunction against Dr. Luke, meaning that she’ll remain in her contract with Sony. The label subsequently offered their support to Kesha, but maintain the position that they cannot end her contract with Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe.

While recent reports suggested that public pressure was forcing Sony to consider severing ties with Luke, for the time being, Kesha is trapped. Today, she took to Instagram to say an offer had been made that if she publicly apologized and retracted her rape claims, she could have her freedom from the label. That is something she is not willing to do. Read her note, and see the Instagram post below.

“so. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.”
