The court of public opinion seems to have sided with Kesha in her ongoing case—and now Sony, Dr. Luke’s employer, may be bowing to the pressure.

The ongoing case between famed producer Dr. Luke and Kesha has resulted in protests, public displays of solidarity, and lots of finger-pointing. Kesha’s claims of sexual abuse have thus far been shut down in court. The court of public opinion, however, seems to have sided with Kesha—and now Sony, Dr. Luke’s employer, may be bowing to the pressure.

Dr. Luke’s contract with Sony isn’t up until 2017, but mounting pressure from inside the company has forced the music giant’s hand, according to The Wrap. “Kesha has no case in regards to her contract,” an unnamed sourced told The Wrap, “but they can’t afford the Adeles of the world out in the streets calling the label unsupportive. The fact that this hasn’t already been taken care of with Luke is confusing, especially for people in the building.”

Kesha’s appeal to exit her six-album contract with Dr. Luke (she hasn’t released new music since 2012) was denied in Manhattan’s Supreme Court last month. Since then, stars like Taylor Swift, Grimes, and Kelly Clarkson have been vocal in their support of the singer.
