Miguel is releasing a special EP tomorrow that includes a number of different versions of his recent single, “Waves.” Taken from his third album, Wildheart, the track has already seen a version featuring Travis Scott, and now it’s going to see a remix by Tame Impala on his new Rogue Waves EP. Sitting among versions featuring Scott and Kacey Musgraves, the Impala remix will be joined by a flip from RAC and an acoustic “Joshua Tree” version.
Listening to the original version of “Waves,” it would make sense that Miguel had Tame Impala in mind for a rework. There’s a touch of their sound in the track itself, and the remix brings in lots more guitar and some spacey synths too.
