When you hear about public beef between artists, it’s usually rappers, but today it’s two of the biggest names in electronic music that go at it. The very public back-and-forth took place after Skrillex called out Deadmau5 on Twitter.
Skrillex doesn’t say exactly what sparked the feud, but it seems that it’s a response to what he sees as bullying by Deadmau5. He claims that Deadmau5 is the worst label head ever, to which Deadmau5 responds: “Let me borrow the lil popstar for a week, mash together a radio hit in 23 minutes, and will be a good label! Yay!” He’s presumably referring to Skrillex’s recent work with Justin Bieber.
The feud ends with the former friends each calling each other “EDM sellouts.” Skrillex says that he’s standing up for himself and friends. Deadmau5’s explanation: “I bet you he’s drunk.”
