Erykah Badu has been promising a new mixtape for a while now, and in the early hours of the morning she finally delivered her first full-length since 2010’s New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh). Featuring her previously released remix of Drake’s meme megahit “Hotline Bling,” the phone-centric mixtape includes a number of surprise guests such as the legendary André 3000. Described by Badu herself as “TRap & B,” the mixtape is just as soulful as we’ve come to expect from Badu, but also just as modern as anything 2015 has given us.
