To paraphrase Into the Wild‘s Christopher McCandless, happiness is only real if it’s shared. The latest release from DJ Dodger Stadium, now known simply as DJDS, seems to be mindful of such truths.
The two-person DJ/producer outfit—comprised of Samo Sound Boy and Jerome Potter—unveiled a touching video to accompany an excellent song with a strong message in “You Don’t Have To Be Alone.” It’s a cinematically impressive offering that still manages to feel homegrown, and boats an interesting Twitter campaign to boot (have a look at the screenshots below).
Nick Walker and Daniel Pappas handled directorial duties and did the groovy record justice. More a canine-friendly short film than music video, the tale centers on a lonesome and adorable husky that traverses streets and sidewalks to enter a more natural realm. The wolf-life dog heeds the song’s encouraging words, reuniting with a pack of pups much like himself.
